"SOUTH LONDON SPECIAL LEAGUE is a unique Greenwich based project that offers opportunities for young people with disabilities to improve their lives through sport. To increase fitness, raise their self esteem and heighten their aspirations. It is a successful, award winning community based
project that enables young players to participate and compete at a level appropriate to their ability.

The league was set up in 2004. Since this date well over one thousand boys and girls have experienced the fun of playing football. The project has been managed since its inception by Sharon Brokenshire and has received a variety of awards for excellence that demonstrate the level of commitment of the management committee. "

Glenn Tilbrook (of Squeeze) and Nine Below Zero
The Co-Operative is a collaboration between Glenn Tilbrook, the songwriter and dynamic front man of Squeeze, and the blues band with a legendary live reputation Nine Below Zero.

When you see them live, you will witness a gig filled with favourite Squeeze songs, Glenn’s solo repertoire and the explosive Rhythm & Blues of Nine Below Zero seamlessly melded with tracks from the Co-Operative album.

Clearly, for Glenn and Nine Below Zero, playing is all about enjoying the moment and it’s that desire and enthusiasm that sets them apart from so many of their peers.

It is early days yet and a lot of red tape to go through but it looks like there is a definite match, let's hope it ends up with saving a life!

‘The Co-Operative’ is the first collaboration between Glenn Tilbrook, the amazing frontman of Squeeze, and the fantastic blues band, Nine Below Zero.

They have recently released a self-titled album, which includes five new songs, three covers, and three instrumentals.

Clearly, for Glenn and Nine Below Zero, playing is all about enjoying the moment and it’s that desire and enthusiasm that sets them apart from so many of their peers. When you hear the set, you will see and hear a mix of Co-Operative, Nine Below Zero, Glenn Tilbrook and Squeeze songs. It doesn’t sound like either a Glenn Tilbrook gig or Nine Below Zero, but rather it’s a co-operative!

Whether they are playing to a room of 50 people or a festival crowd, The Co-Operative get a huge buzz from playing and making music which marks them out as performers to be cherished.

Contrary to what you might have seen or heard, Squeeze are NOT performing at the Rewind Festival in Scotland or Henley On Thames. Apologies to anyone who thought otherwise, bought tickets or is in any way disappointed.
